"Who ever said you need a return ticket and a shite load of money to travel? There’s got to be a better way of life than the norm. There’s got to be some… one way trippin’, yeah!"

I'm Elise; an avid traveller, bartender, marine scientist, musician, photographer and many other things.  I've been known to live out my car, run in random places all over the world, and make a mean cocktail. I'm all for conscious living, sustainability and breaking away from what some say is the 'norm'.

I'm a blatant booze-hag and coffee snob who is determined on finding funky independent bars and cafes where ever I go and would like to open my own place one day. I wouldn't be caught dead in a Starbucks pretending like the coffee is good or in a McDonald's unless I'm horribly hungover (and in that case, it pretty much counts as being dead).

I believe that life is better to a beat and 'music is what feelings sound like'. I sing, play guitar and write my own music, but I really love making playlists to create an atmosphere.  Born a beach bum, I feel grounded when near the ocean and believe we should do everything we can to protect it, and the environment. I feel the same way about travel destinations and prefer conscious travel seeking local experiences over hostel-hopping and getting wasted with AFA (Another Fucking Aussie).

People call me opinionated but I'd call it passionate. I'm a jack of all trades, master of nothing.

One Way Tripper is is not just another blog, it’s a place to express a way of life; a free way of life. It encompasses all of my favourite things and brings them together in one place. Whether it be the latest destination on my itinerary, an awesome bar I found, or ways to keep fit & healthy on the road (or my attempt to!), you'll find it on here.
